Figure Drawing Basics: Body Proportions Sunday 15 November 2026

€60.00

Build a foundation for drawing the human figure.

Sunday 15 November 2026 · 18:00–20:30

Drawing the body can feel complicated when you’re unsure how the parts fit together. This workshop introduces the basics of human proportions, helping you approach the figure through simple shapes, useful reference points and careful observation.

You’ll explore how the head, torso, arms and legs relate to one another, and how these relationships change with a person’s pose. Through guided drawing exercises, you’ll practise building a figure step by step before getting caught up in smaller details.

Whether you’re new to figure drawing or would like to strengthen your foundations, this workshop will help you approach the human form with greater understanding and confidence.

What you’ll explore:

  • Basic body proportions: Use the head as a guide to understand the relationships between different parts of the body.

  • Simple shapes: Break the torso, pelvis and limbs into manageable forms.

  • Anatomical landmarks: Find useful reference points such as the shoulders, elbows, hips and knees.

  • Posture and balance: Observe how weight and alignment affect a standing figure.

  • Looking beyond the guidelines: Recognise natural differences between bodies and use observation to adjust your drawing.

Build a practical starting point for drawing people, with skills you can continue developing in your own sketchbook.

Please note: your booking is confirmed once payment is completed. The order status will remain Pending until after the workshop, when it is manually marked as fulfilled.
