Lesson 1: “Let’s start at the very beginning. A very good place to start…”

  • The basics of oil painting

  • Experiments in techniques

  • Painting shapes: a cylinder, a ball, and a cube.

 

Lesson 2

 

Still Life

  • Apply what you learned in the first lesson with a simple still life

  • Learn colour pallet planning

  • Build up from background to foreground.

 

Lesson 3

 

Flora and Fauna

  • Paint an arrangement with more detail

  • Make a unified image from organic shapes.

  • Express bold and fine brushwork

 

Lesson 4

 

Landscape painting

  • Use the skills and techniques you have learned so far to paint a landscape.

  • Learn more about perspective and focal point.

  • Capture the view!
