Course Program
Lesson 1
Lines, Marks & Colour
We'll explore how different line qualities—thick, thin, broken, flowing—can be used to describe form, create texture, and suggest light and shadow. You’ll also be introduced to basic colour layering using pens and how it can enhance your line work.
Lesson 2
Observational Drawing Techniques
Train your eye to really see.
This week is about developing the foundation of any great drawing: observation. We’ll practice looking slowly and carefully at the world around us—capturing form, proportion, and detail in a way that strengthens your hand-eye connection and deepens your drawings.
Lesson 3
Drawing with Confidence
Let go of fear and find your flow.
Pens don’t forgive, and that’s their gift. You’ll learn how to work with boldness, using quick sketching exercises and creative challenges to build confidence. We’ll explore techniques like contour drawing, continuous line, and how to embrace “mistakes” as part of the creative process.
Lesson 4
Create a Final Piece
Put it all together in your own pen-drawn artwork.
This final session will guide you through creating a finished piece using everything you’ve learned—lines, observation, confident strokes, and layered techniques. You'll leave with a unique artwork that reflects your growth over the course.
