Loosen up your drawing and learn to capture more with fewer lines.
Sunday 8 November 2026 · 18:00–20:30
How does your drawing change when you have less time? This workshop explores quick sketching and gesture drawing through timed exercises, helping you observe more closely, simplify what you see and draw with greater confidence.
We’ll begin with a few still life objects before moving on to reference images of people and animals. Starting with 10-minute sketches, we’ll gradually shorten the drawing time to five minutes, two minutes and finally one minute.
As the time gets shorter, you’ll practise choosing what matters most: the main shapes, the direction of a pose and the lines that capture its character. Each sketch is an opportunity to experiment, without the pressure to produce a polished drawing.
Whether you’re new to drawing or looking to bring more freedom and energy into your work, this session will help you build your observation skills and become less caught up in detail.
What you’ll explore:
Still life sketches: Begin by observing and drawing a few objects in front of you.
People and animals: Work from reference images to explore different forms and poses.
Progressively shorter sketches: Move from 10-minute drawings to five-, two- and one-minute sketches.
Gesture and expressive lines: Capture movement, posture and character with fewer marks.
Simplifying what you see: Identify the main shapes and proportions before focusing on details.
Come ready to experiment, loosen up and discover how much you can capture in just a minute.
Please note: your booking is confirmed once payment is completed. The order status will remain Pending until after the workshop, when it is manually marked as fulfilled.
